## SUM FunctionExcel's SUM function adds all the passed as arguments and returns the sum of all the numbers. Arguments passed to the function can be just pure numbers or cell ranges, a single cell reference. You can pass upto 255 arguments to add up. First argument is required. 2 to 255 are optional. Syntax
SUM([arg1], [arg2], [arg3], [arg4], ...) Example This returns 30 =SUM(5,10,15) This is valid too. text strings are converted to numbers and then added up. If it can not be converted to a valid number, then excel throws an error. =SUM("5","10",15) Adds all values in cell range A5 through A10. Any empty cells or text values in this range are ignored. =SUM(A5:A10) Adds all values in cells A5 through A10 plus B5 and 10 =SUM(A5:A10, B5, 10) |
